I've broken it into two because we are staying in Oceanside for a week and going between San Diego and Los Angeles.  And it's about half way in our trip.

The ONLY things left to do are to finish looking at the list I made of restaurant recommendations and pick up a few last minute items for the trip.  Now onto the packing list and putting things in order before we leave.  Kels checked into insurance and my license is NOT recognized in the US so he will be doing ALL the driving.  That's ok I am a good passenger - doling out food, reading tidbits of the places we are going to see and making sure there are tunes.  Hey it's a good gig and I've been doing it for a long time.

One of my bosses is in California right now taking his kids to Disneyland.   Should be interesting to hear about it when he gets back next week. 

21 days!!

Can't believe how fast time is flying!!

Have gotten a few things crossed off the list.  Looking into attraction prices etc, there isn't deals for some so we are probably going to get them at the gate so to speak.

So we are in good form as you can see.  And we are chomping at the bit to leave.  LOL we are both struggling with excitement at work and it's pretty much all we talk about at home.  Ya we are excited...

Test and small update...

Went shopping today and got some essentials for the trip - light breathable clothes and an adaptor.  And adaptor from our camera to my tablet.  This is a test to see how easy it's going to be for me to upload from here each night.  So far a few kinks to work out but otherwise this may work!

Hotels Booked!

Got them all booked last night!!  Here is the itinerary:

Calgary to Idaho Falls.  Spend the night

Idaho Falls to Flagstaff.  Spend the night

Flagstaff to Las Vegas.  Spend the night

Las Vegas to Oceanside.  Spend a week (6 nights, 7 days)

Oceanside to Monterey.  Spend the night

Monterey to San Francisco.  Spend the night

San Francisco to Mendocino.  Spend the night

Mendocino to Cannon Beach.  Spend the night

Cannon Beach to Spokane.  Spend the night

Spokane to Calgary - HOME!

All told nine places to stay in 15 days isn't too bad.  And most of the hotels have some sort of breakfast - hot or otherwise, so we have checked off one meal from the list.

San Francisco was sketch!  Seriously looking at our options for places to stay made me very uneasy, like we were looking at the seedier parts of a third world country and I was nervous!  But we decided to spend a little more and are staying in the nicer side of town and it's only for one night.

I'm starting to feel a lot better about the last leg of our trip.  I was feeling a little uncertain about it cause we hadn't decided anything permanent from San Francisco to Spokane but it's done now so it feels better.

ONE MONTH!!

30+ Days...

Hard to believe it's a month away.  Kels was just saying this weekend he's ready to go now, and doesn't want to wait for another 30+ days.  Keeping occupied planning it is helping me not to be impatient but at this point for some reason it feels like it'll be over so fast...<sigh>

Ok I think that covers all the big stuff.  There are some things crossed out but still a lot to do.  Phew!  I'm planning on hotels this week to book since we know dates better now.  Next update should have a lot of things crossed off the list.

38 Days!

So this weekend Kels and I hit up AMA.  We got 12 maps (states and various city maps) and 7 tour books of the states we will be visiting.  Being a member is beneficial since it cost us ZERO dollars!  Woot woot!

And we decided to keep with the original plan and head to San Fran.

Looking through some of the tour books was so awesome this weekend.  There's tons of tidbits of information and recommendations and ya it just adds to the excitement of the trip.  We are getting very, very excited!!
